Riverside, Illinois - Known for its early 20th century architecture, delightful town center and expansive parkways, Riverside is considered to be the first planned community in the United States and was designated a National Historic Landmark. One immediately notices the antique-style gas street lanterns transporting you back in time allowing you to fully appreciate the village’s original aesthetic charm.

Residents take great pride in their history which is quite apparent in the architecture as you stroll through town. There are a variety of styles of homes including many 1920s bungalows, huge Victorians and early 20th century mansions. Residents and visitors alike can enjoy a tour of the Riverside Historical Museum and the Riverside Water Tower. In addition, the village also offers plenty of dining and shopping opportunities to meet any desire. With a train station right in town, commuters can easily get to wherever they need to go.

Elementary and middle school students are served by District 96 and high school students attend Riverside Brookfield High School, part of District 208.
