Picturesque Hinsdale - located in Chicago’s western suburbs, Hinsdale is home to a close knit community of 17,000 residents. The village of Hinsdale is home to a quaint downtown bustling with restaurants, shopping, hair salons and convenient access to the train. The downtown district is on the National Register of Historic Places. Several buildings and homes even date back to the late 1800s. With year round activities for families, Hinsdale is proud of it’s annual tradition of the Christmas Walk and the lighting of the tree in front of historic Memorial Hall. In summer months, residents gather downtown for the Uniquely Thursday concert series. This event features musical talent along with delicious food and a gathering for friends and neighbors to join together to celebrate the warm summer months. During the summer, Hinsdaleans can be found taking advantage of the weekly Farmer’s Market, a great place to purchase fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers and catch up with neighbors. Hinsdale is also home to the Fine Arts Festival. Every summer, residents are treated to local artisans providing unique treasures for every taste. For the athletes, Hinsdale is home to a number of parks and athletic facilities. Plenty of space to get out and play baseball, basketball, tennis or just enjoy fresh open space.
In addition, Hinsdale is home to the Hinsdale Public Library, Hinsdale Community House, Katherine Legge Memorial Park, Hinsdale Community Swimming Pool, and the Hinsdale Humane Society, home of Morris the Cat! Hinsdale boasts its own world class hospital right in our own backyard. In addition, Hinsdale is home to award winning, sought after schools, School District 181 and High School District 86. With easy access to the Tri-State Tollway, Stevenson Expressway and Burlington Northern Metra Train, Hinsdale is easily accessible to Chicago and both Midway and O’Hare Airports, but once in Hinsdale, you probably won’t want to leave!
