Elmhurst, Illinois - Known for its award-winning park district, cultural offerings and downtown, Elmurst has something to offer for everyone. With plenty of shopping, restaurants and community events, Elmhurst is home to more than 40,000 residents who enjoy all that this lively community has to offer.

Elmhurst is known for its bustling shopping and dining scene. Not only in the downtown area, but also the York and Vallette district and along Spring Road which can be accessed via the town’s free Trolley and runs through the summer and holiday season. Residents are never at a shortage for culinary or shopping experiences. Elmhurst is home to its own movie theater where residents can pop in and see all the latest films. Neighbors gather annually to celebrate by participating in the Memorial Day Parade as well as the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, third largest in Illinois!

At the heart of the town is Wilder Park. The location of Elmhurst’s public library, Wilder Mansion, the Wilder Park Conservatory and the Elmhurst Art Museum. Further, The Elmhurst History Museum, Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra, GreenMan Theater Troupe, Elmhurst Choral Union and the Elmhurst Children’s Theater are just a few of the options if you are looking to stimulate your cultural desires.

Students primarily are served by Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205. In addition, Elmurst is the site of Elmhurst College, a private liberal arts college founded in 1871.

Close proximity to both airports, the highways and the Metra, Elmhurst is an ideal location for anyone looking for quick and convenient access for commuting. However, with plenty to do and see in Elmhurst, you may never want to leave!
